Supernova per diem??

I do not need a perfect answer to this question, so any knowledge, rough data, or even a theory would be great....

Let's say that one had an observational perch above a section of universe at roughly one million light years diameter. Our Milky Way being the center of that diameter (how Catholic Church of me). How many supernova 'flash' would one see....one per day, one per month etc.....???????????????

Your skill set is desired from one that is lacking.

If you are asking the average frequency of supernovas that occur in a galaxy our size it is assumed to be on the order of 3 - 5 per century.
