1. Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back
2. Alien
3. Contact

The Empire Strikes back has a particular nostalgia as it was the first film I saw at the cinema...I wanted to be a stormtrooper when I grew up!! (Hey...I was only 8 years old at the time........).

"Starship Troopers"

At the time, I was very impressed with the futuristic news casts referring the viewer to the internet for more information. That concept was new to me back then. Little did I know that just a few years later it would be commonplace.

Some of my all time favorites would have to include
FORBIDDEN PLANET
STAR WARS
MISSION TO MARS(?) Within the year or two, about the rescue mission to Mars where they find that face on Mars. The same year as Red Planet, but NOT that one.

Dark Star was hysterical. The book's really funny too.

And I had clean forgotten about "Dark City." Now that was one trippy movie.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Dark City is probably one of the very, very best movies of all types that almost nobody ever saw. A real shame, so many great ideas, and the best looking CG effects at the time of production. The automat scene is classic. (Ebert (!) said the automat in the movie was a regular automats wet dream of an automat).

I also wanted to mention Memento here, its treatment of how we remember things is so different than Dark City, but you can see connections in both movies about that. In my view, Memento is a time travel paradox movie, although I am in an extremely small minority of viewers who look at it that way.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!
