Replying to:

I'd suggest the closest thing they have to a sanctuary on Station would be the SM. It's where they take their meals and bunk, so you might consider it analogous to your home. If I were on Station, I think I'd be keen to delineate that as the off-duty place (in as much as you can in such a finite space) where you can somewhat relax once you come through the hatch for lunch, or at the end of a work-day.With the arrival of Harmony and Columbus in particular, they also have some new and relatively uncluttered volume (so far!) for just taking a moment to 'space-cartwheel' or what have you. I'm sure that must make a nice change for crews from the equipment-on-every-surface of most of the Station. One other place the might offer personal respite would be the Soyuz (assuming regulations allow a crew member to go sit in there). If you wanted to find a quiet place away from the other crew for a moment's peace, that seems like a good spot. Lab is quite nice and they enjoy haning out there a lot. Node 2 and Columbus are also good. Note that Node 1 is pretty cramped and backed (e.g., has all the US water there).
