I just watched the latest Doctor Who, "Voyage of the Damned." Pretty good and - not a spoiler, probably common knowledge - Kylie Minogie has a leading role.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

I missed the first ten mins or so but it was pretty good
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring" - Chuck Palahniuk.

Did you also detect a few "tounge-in-cheek" hints to a 1970s disaster movie, or was that merely me?

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Move over 'The Poseidon Adventure'......

...they also copied an idea from Star Trek Next Generation episode Relics where they find the intact transporter trace of Scotty in the transporter system of the wreck USS Genolen which disappeared 75 years previously.

Did you notice the 'come with me line' in the trailers for the next series - all that was missing was 'if you want to live'....

Also did you notice that the budget for this show must have increased significantly? I mean the digital effects and sets where of a much higher quality than the previous seasons.

That may be because its the Christmas Special, they might of thrown a bit more money at this episode.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. Is this a UK exchange, since Doctor Who has been on hiatus here in the States since before November, if I recall. I enjoy the reruns of all of the new ones. The First Series One was excellent, I was in love with Billie Piper and Eccleston (sp) was very likable as the Doctor. The new guy is just as good, tho, now I miss Rose. Martha is a good foil as well for the Doctor. I kind of thought the last few episodes were quite dark, what with the end of humanity due to the Master's insanity. Is this the season you are referring to? Or has the latest season already started in the UK? I was on the website and they were saying Spring 2008 for Series Four? I'll watch with relish. DVR's are the greatest invention...I watch repeats on BBC America and catch an occasional Torchwood. Capt. Jack is ok, but this is no Doctor Who.

We must progress and expand, or we will stagnate and die.

Evidently It Takes Two and Voyage of the Damned have not yet run here on SCI-FI Channel. I don't believe I missed them, either. I suppose they will have to run as a precursor to Series Four's new episodes. I recall that face of the other Doctor from the late 80's? The guy who replaced the afro-headed guy who was the definitive Doctor of the 70's.
Tom something.....
Anyway, Britain deserves to see them before us Yanks.
Patience is a virtue.......
We must progress and expand, or we will stagnate and die.
