Welcome!
In this case I think it means delta pressure / delta time. That would be a rate of pressure change or dP/dT.
DPDT means double pole, double throw.

I'll bet that board is more your style.
Hand scribbled on an eraseable board.

An interesting question, eh?

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Morning Men (and ladies). Firstly, welcome to the board Williamt. Hope you enjoy yourself .

It's great to see everything going like so smoothly, just like clockwork. Hope you had a couple of beers after the launch SG.

I've got a couple of questions and anyone can chime in.

Why doesn't the STS launch closer to the ISS. I can't see a reason why they don't pop it up say 10 miles aways. That way maybe the ISS inhabitants would get a look veiw of the launch and more importantly save some propellant (I guess it wouldn't be too much though)

Oh damn, I can't remember what the other question was. You get that when you have just woken up.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

I thought the TI burn stood for 'Terminal Initiation'? The Nasatv commentator just called it the ''Terminal Intercept' burn

It would actually requre more fuel to launch if the shuttle was overhead.

The most important thing is that the plane of the ISS orbit and the Shuttle launch be precisely alaigned. As long as they are, with the shuttle in a lower orbit in the same plane it catches up automatically.

It takes a day or two for them to get settled in orbit, get the machine running and prepared for docking anyway, so there's no super rush.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Upcoming burn should be visible live on NASA TV. The Orbiter is close enough for it to be observed.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Monsters. Possibly stars in the background, they had the gain cranked up pretty high in that view.

I think that puff at the start of the burn is so cool

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Love how despite all the things they have to remember to check and take with them before every launch, they still managed to get a "Happy Birthday" banner up into space

They seemed to be crossing from left to right, not diectly associated with the orbiter, but that could be an optical illusion.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Hi MeteorWayne,

I agree totally, that is a fantastic shot of the Columbus Science Module.

From Spaceflightnow.com. Justin Ray.

1557 GMT (10:57 a.m. EST)

The shuttle is about 1,200 feet below the station. Mission Control has given the "go" for
the upcoming rendezvous pitch maneuver.

1543 GMT (10:43 a.m. EST)

Another of the mid-course correction burns has been completed by the shuttle to fine-tune
its path to the station.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. 1610 GMT (11:10 a.m. EST)

From Spaceflightnow.com, Justin Ray.

Atlantis has reached a point 600 feet directly beneath the station.
The shuttle will hold this position until the RPM flip occurs a few minutes from now.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world.
