WRT shuttle maintenance crews;

Obviously, S_G's right, he knows his <expletive />. But to kind of compare it, its similar to a Navy squadron, or an airline maintaining their aircraft. There's a certain one each person favors, and (we've had this debate before) each vehicle has its own personality; qualities, temperment, willingness to cooperate, etc. Since Endeavour's a little newer, she might have great structual qualities, like parts fitting with no issue at all, but a PITA with its avionics for some reason, whereas Discovery or Atlantis, being a little older, might have issues with hydraulics, or maybe avionics. The maintenance guys have their favorites, I'm sure.

An example from experience; we had a plane in my (DC-9) squadron that I perferred, but it's personality was such that it's APU was problematic, even when a new one was installed. Some "ships" are just picky.

We continue with your regularly scheduled thread.
