Is the P6 array now generating full power? Also, will nasa periodically ask the ISS/future shuttle crew to photograph the repaired area, just to make sure everything is still how it should be??

"why is clay reading off words (city names?) that start with "M"??? "

Every night he has been up there he has read off several names of cities in Nebraska. Nebraska media reports it daily and everyone has a big warm and fuzzy.

"

PRetty much - more than enough but there might be some other damage out there, but we do get failures over time. Yes, I am sure we will keep an eye on them.

I've heard several times that they are getting 217 Amps out of P6, as compared with the expected 220 Amps before it was found to be damaged.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

One collective soul in outer space - Very touching NY Times article on the tearful good-bye.

Congrats to the team

I'm a recovering optimist - things could be better.

"Is that missing three amps really going to matter than much?"

Nope. More than enough. The arrays are designed to alow for a reasonable amount of degradation over their lifetime. Right now I think the degradation has been less than desinged.

Yes, a surprisingly moving hand-over and goodbye. Anderson seems to orbit a little outside NASA's nominal trajectory for Astronauts, but he's the kind of effervescent personality you'd want on any long duration flight I reckon. I'm sure his words on human spaceflight resonated with many here who share his zeal for the undertaking.

Well done, Clay.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

It must be weird when you have lived on the ISS for so long. It will feel like home so you wouldnt want to leave. But equally you want to get to your earth home to see friends and family

Wayne Hale on nasatv

I liked the part where he announced "There will be no 'cities of Iowa' during Increment 16" and Peggy Whitson (who is from Iowa) gave him a dope slap.

My wife and I agree that this shuttle crew has a camaraderie that is rare in NASA crews and that has to flow from the personality of the commander.

Was thinking earlier how this will probably be the most dramatic, bizarre and unpredictable mission ever. So much has happened, so much has changed from the inital flightplan and so much has been acheived all in one

I was thinking the other day about how cool it would be when this thing is finished if someone would write a firsthand account of the construction of the station from start to finish.

This would definitely warrant a chapter.
